  • I’ve seen that there are different entry fees for titled and non-titled players. Who are titled players?

A Titled player is a player with any of the EBL or a WBF titles [as of Dec 31, 2024].

WBF titles: WGM (World Grand Master), WIM (World International Master), WLM (World Life Master), WM (World Master)

Please note that Youth World Masters are not included in this list and will benefit of the discounted entry fee.

EBL titles: EGM (European Grand Master), EIM (European International Master), EM (European Master).

Checking both the EBL and WBF People Finder can help you to find out if a player is or is not Titled

  • When exactly do we have to register for BAM and/or Pairs event after being knocked-out from the main tournament? / We would like to know what if after dropping out someone from a team would like to play pairs with a new player while the rest of a team stays in BAM. What about payment and if such pair can join pairs tournament on the second or third day (depending when they drop out). And what if a new player joins BAM event?

Teams qualified to the KO stage of all teams competition containing players who mean to eventually drop in into a pairs or a BAM event, MUST register before the start of the event they want top into. Registration can be done either online (preferably) or at the registration desk, the time limit being 8 pm the day the respective teams qualification ends. Later entries will be accepted only if feasible from the organization point of view, but in no case they will be allowed AFTER the start. Exceptions might be made ONLY to a Semifinal B, and only if there’s an empty spot available, but NEVER in a Semifinal A.

Here are the dates we are referring to:

  • Registration to Mixed/Seniors Pairs and Mixed&Seniors BAM: no later than 8 pm on June 22nd
  • Registration to Open/Women Pairs and Open&Women BAM: no later than 8 pm on June 30th

As for the other time limits:

The registration to all events ends at 8 pm the day prior to their start. Registration can be done either online (preferably) or at the registration desk.

The EBL may be tolerant up to 10 pm, but later entries will be accepted only if feasible from the organization point of view.

The dates we are referring to are:

  • Registration to Mixed and Seniors Teams: no later than 8 pm on June 20th
  • Registration to Mixed and Seniors Pairs, and to Mixed&Seniors BAM: no later than 8 pm on June 22nd
  • Registration to Open and Women Teams: no later than 8 pm on June 27th

  • My partner and me don’t have team mates. Can you help?

Sure! We have opened an official Partnership Desk. Check it out here: http://www.eurobridge.org/partnership-desk/

  • Our team is six handed and then decides to play four handed in BAM. The third pair withdraws. Can they withdraw part of the entry fee?

No, it’s not possible as the EBL is charging fee for the whole week package.

  • What is the last moment for registration of a new BAM team or a new pair?

Last moment for registration is 8 pm on the day before the event. Later entries may be allowed only if feasible from the organizational point of view.

Registrations should be made online (preferably) or at the EBL registration desk.

  • Can a team drop into both Pairs and BAM (e.g. four players playing the BAM, and the other two contributing one or two pairs to the Pairs event)?

Yes, they can, but new players are subjected to the payment of an entry fee.
