“Let’s play bridge” – the title of the exhibit, which is presented during this year’s European Bridge Championships in 2025 in Poznań. Sports bridge, like other sports disciplines, has been issued by many editions of collector’s items (stamps and postcards, telephone cards, postcards as well as match labels, etc.). The publishers of collector’s items with the bridge name, which are available as part of the extensions, were POCZTA POLSKA and external postal boards and other business entities. Among the items presented in the exhibit are playing cards in four guilds and selected sports organizations (olympics, championships, congresses, tournaments), commemorating unique publications. Among the presented assets, the following are worth noting:
– the oldest, advertising postcard (from the interwar period, of the Morskie Oko Hotel and Restaurant in Zakopane, where four illustrations of the postcard show the restaurant and daciga hall, the hotel room and the “bridge” hall.
– a block issued by the post office remembering the American and Caribbean Bridge Championships in 1977 and the World Philatelic Exhibition “Amphilex” under the patronage of FIP.
– a series of 4 – stamps (spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs – issued by the French Post Office in 1984, designed by Józef Rajewicz – a Polish painter, graphic artist and designer of postage stamps.
